NS FL2 C/P Q8

Post by Amber9 » Fri Jul 12, 2019 7:04 pm

Hi,

When I was choosing the answer I am not sure if I had the right reasoning. I looked at table 1 to see which broth had the highest and lowest fermented alcohol yield and then looking at table 2 I compared the rates of broth A and C which were in the same range (no correlation). Let me know if I understood the question correctly or not!

Thank you

Table 2 shouldn't come into play for this question, only table 1.

You are probably right about the rest: CO2 production is a proxy for alcohol yield (since alcohol fermentation produces gaseous CO2). So we find our highest yield (in broth A) and notice that it is lowest in glucose and lowest in yeast inoculate. Then we notice that increasing either of those two parameters only led to a further decrease in alcohol yield. We can therefore conclude that neither are positively correlated with alcohol yield.
