Physics Chapter 4 Passage question 4

Hi

If you don't mind could you please explain how they converted the 3.8L/hr into the Cal/h. I see the conversion on the answer however I do not understand how do they cancel the L

The liters are converted into milliliters (mL) and then mL to grams. One milliliter of water weighs one gram.This conversion is done towards the right-hand side of the equation presented. The other factor presented is the heat of vaporization for water given in the passage.


An additional point of confusion might be that the question says "energy lost", when a more common way of expressing the phenomenon at work would be "heat dissipated". These are functionally the same thing.
