A student recently wrote us: "The use of "largely" in the question stem is a little unclear because in the first sentence of the paragraph on Mondo Cane, there are multiple context clues that point to the importance of the documentary on the popularization of the myth. To the point where an argument could almost be made for the myth to having not really existed in any meaningful way before the documentary. "
Paragraph 4 does have multiple context clues that "point to the importance of the documentary on the popularization of the myth." However, the question stem is asking about which one of the answer choices largely contributed to the founding/establishment of the cargo cult myth not to its popularization. Popularization is not the same phenomena as founding/establishment. Since Schwartz and Lawrence laid down the "basic tenets of the cargo cult myth" as described in paragraph 3, answer choice A best fits what the question stem is asking the student.
Thanks for your question. I hope this helps!
