NS FL# 6, CARS Q5

Post by sdaswani » Wed May 15, 2019 7:09 am

Hi, just a clarification for this question:

In paragraph 2, the passage states that a "hugely increasing population of the millennial generation show up with increasing frequency." I took this to mean that there were an increasing number of millennials showing up to church, which though I know is against the main idea of the author, it's how I understood the line. Choice A directly "supported" this understanding, so I'm wondering if you can help me identify what I missed here.

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the question!

Here's the relevant portion of the passage:
News stories at the dawn of the 21st century which emphasize ever-dropping church attendance and, most worryingly, a hugely increasing proportion of the “Millennial” generation (those born between 1982 and 2001), show up with increasing frequency.
The key here is that it's the news stories that are showing up with increasing frequency and not the actual people at church! It is news stories about millennials not going to church that are increasing. It's definitely tricky wording, but that's classic CARS!

I hope this is helpful and good luck!
