NS FL#2 Biology Q43

Hi, I was reading through the explanation of the answer of this passage, but wanted some clarification on why there is an increase in acetyl-coA when glucose cannot be broken down in a diabetes patient. I understood the idea that when glucose cannot be taken up, the body with rely more on fatty acid...

Re: NS FL #2 Biology Q50

Got it, so we're talking about a "temporary" change here. Adding products/reactants will affect the ratio momentarily, until equilibrium is established. Since we don't know the effect of heat, Temp will thus, not affect this momentary ratio in a predictable away. However, in the long term, increasin...

NS FL #2 Biology Q50

Hi! I'm curious as to why adding water will change the ratio of products and reactants for this reaction at equilibrium. Since water is pure liquid, wouldn't we always include it as 1 in the Keq equation, implying that adding or removing water wouldn't change much? I feel like I'm missing something ...

Re: NS FL #2 Biology Q 3

Ah! Tricky, but yes, I see it. If the question asked "why it never goes below a certain volume" as opposed to 15ml/kg then, D would probably be the way to go, correct?
Thanks so much!!

NS FL #2 Biology Q 3

Hi! I was confused between choices C and D for this question. I completely understand Choice C---how 15 ml/kg is the residual volume i.e, minimum lung volume @ max intrapleural pressure. However, I was inclined to answer D because the questions asks "why" lung volume never drops below this so-called...

NS FL Test #2 C/P Q#3

Hi! I was a little confused about the wording of this question. Is the figure shown below the question, the Hb dissociation curve at high altitudes? If so, how is the shape different from that at P atm? (I was thinking the shift of the curve would be to the left, as in the presence of low atmospheri...
