Clarification

When a Qstem mentions gene expression should I instantly think of translation or transcription? And why wouldn't Southern Blotting be used to analyze gene expression if all protein initially starts from DNA?

Ok so does this scenario relate to the common ion effect where basically since I already have the acetic acid in solution; adding more of it will introduce a common ion making it less likely to ionize/dissociate?

It was the last question on the third part of the spectroscopy video. I still don't understand where the core electrons come from because I just thought I could draw the lewis structure and just count the pair of electrons? Thank you!

Calculating Total Electrons

So I was watching one of the content videos and it said the total amount of electrons in methoxide was 18. I thought it was 14 and am very confused on where the extra 4 electrons came from even though I feel it might be a simple answer but I'm still not getting it. Thanks for your help in advance!

With the question attached, I just want clarity on why wouldn't increasing the amount of acetic acid influence percent dissociation if the amount protons are increased according to Le Chatelier's Principle?

Also can I get clarity on Q46 where it brings up Kapp vs K1? Is Kapp something we should have a solid understanding of in general, because I don't follow Compound 2 is serving as some sort of inhibitor? Thanks again!
