AAMC FL3 B/B #39

Hello Next Step, The answer explanation states that succinyl-CoA Synthetase results in the increased production of succinate. I looked up the chemical equation and I see that this is true. My question is, when it comes to the name "succinyl-CoA Synthetase", what part of that suggests it ma...

Amino Acid Structures

Hi Next Step, This is probably a quick and easy question, but it is something I am stuck on. When I look up the structure of amino acids, why do I find two different structures for the same amino acid? I attached a picture of the two versions of Histidine to show you what I am talking about. Histidi...

AAMC FL2 C/P #23

Hi Next Step, I have a quick question about #23 in the chem section of AAMC FL2. The answer explanation says figure 3 shows that the removal of Y229 decreases stability. I see that the curve shifts left, and I understand that a left shift in this graph means more unstable. But how do we know that th...

AAMC FL2 C/P #9

Hello Next Step, This questions is about the absorption of UV light by organic molecules. I chose answer choice C instead of B because my understanding is that the energy absorbed must match what it takes to bump an electron to a higher orbital. Since the question specified "Always", I tho...

CARS strategy & practice book, page 35 #3

Hi Next Step, I'm wondering about question #3 from skimming passage II on pages 34 - 35 of the CARS S&P book (old version). It reads, "3. Which of the following assumptions does the author make in the first paragraph?" I actually got this question correct, but I am curious about the ex...

Re: QBook - Psychology #909

Ok, thanks for the tip. Yes, I've found I have a habit of over thinking some problems and I end up convincing myself there is an exception to the normal rule I've learned. That is something I'll be more aware of.

QBook - Psychology #909

Hello NS, I have a question about #909 in the QBook. It is about an experiment in which subjects were shown photos and asked to determine depth. The answer explanation indicates that the subjects used binocular depth perception to determine depth in the photos. But I'm wondering, does binocular dept...

Chem/Phys S&P page 88

Hi Next Step, I am looking at page 88, question #55 in the Chem/Phys Strategy and Practice book, blue cover old version. The answer explanation does not address roman numeral III. Can you help me understand why III is also true? I picked answer "A. I only" because I couldn't think of a spe...
